Virginia Drivers License Information
To get your drivers license in Virginia, you need to apply for a regular drivers license. You must have a Virginia license within sixty (60) days of establishing residency. You must give up any other Drivers License that you have previously held from any other State. Please have your Virginia license with you at all times, its the law.
Virginia Drivers License Requirements
18 years and under

Learner's Permit

You must be at least 15 and 1/2 years old.

Parent or Legal Guardian signature.

Must have an adult with you at all times (must be at least 21 years old or 18 if family member).

Forty five (45) hours of total driving and fifteen (15) must be at night

May drive alone depending on the following conditions:

You must have had a Learner's Permit for at least nine (9) months.
