  1. If you are looking to add a new name to your registration, or if you are looking to delete a name from an existing registration, you must visit a Florida driver license office
  2. If you are looking to update the name on your existing registration because you are transferring the car to another person, you must apply for a new car title application which will transfer your existing one to the new name. After applying for a title, your new registration information will be updated. After you have completed the title application, please visit any local county tax office. Make sure to bring money to pay the fee.
  3. If you recently married, divorced or have changed your legal name, you'll need to first apply for a Florida Drivers License Name Change. Your registration will automatically be updated after your driver license has been changed. Please note that the vehicle title name will still show your old name. If you wish to change the name on your title, you must apply for a new one.
